 Group

Fruytier was founded in 1946 as a softwood merchant. Located in the middle of forested regions recognized for their high quality softwoods, the subsidiaries of the Group are ideally built at motorway and railway crossroads.

Sawmilling activities started in 1987. Production grew steadily to reach today a daily capacity of 7000 m³ in round wood. With 6 sawmills in Belgium, and 3 in Germany, under the Karl Decker brand, the Group is today among the leaders in Europe.

In addition, the Group embarked in 1997 in the forward processing of sawn products. Kiln-drying, planing, moulding,... facilities were built to produce softwood products of higher value added.

Species mainly produced are Spruce, Douglas, Larch, and Pine:

  • Structural lumber: traditional, industrial, lath …
  • Packing lumber: palettes, boxes …
  • Wood products: planed/moulded, kiln-dried, treated …
  • Engineered wood products: finger-jointed, glued, glued-laminated …

Our wide product range encompasses not only standard products, but also products made on customer specifications for minimum ordered quantities.

Its service is what makes the Group distinctive. Within short lead times, the Group can supply large quantities of freshly sawn softwood directly from the forest. Sawmilling to order (not to stock) allows for enhanced flexibility and lumber quality.

A corporate culture of continuous process improvement and continuous investment in leading edge technologies leads to Quality and Service. Externally audited, the Group maintains, among others, the following certifications: PEFC, NIMP 15, ATG, KOMO, MPA ...

Quality, service, experience, flexibility, leading edge technology, partnership, know-how better define our Group.
